We strongly recommend that all customers purchase travel insurance that includes coverage for overseas driving, to protect against unexpected incidents and to ensure a smooth claims process if needed.
Please note: Even with full coverage or third-party insurance, an excess/deductible fee may still apply in the event of any damage or accident.

【Insurance】Insurance Policy
Insurance Information
Our rental company offers two types of insurance coverage:
- Third-Party Liability Insurance
- Full Coverage Insurance
Please note that due to the nature of our fleet — which includes a large number of classic JDM vehicles — only Third-Party Liability Insurance is available for most models.
Third-Party Insurance – General Access: ¥800,000
If the renter is found liable for an accident and the repair cost exceeds ¥800,000, the renter will be required to buy back the entire vehicle and cover all additional costs related to the incident, including but not limited to towing, storage, and loss of use.
Full Coverage Insurance
Full coverage insurance is only available for select newer vehicle models.
Deductible: ¥600,000

※Damage that exceeds the above self-pay and compensation limit will be borne by the customer. No compensation will be made in the event of an accident that falls under the circumstances where insurance premiums cannot be paid. No compensation will also be given if there is no accident number issued by the police.
1) Basic Rental Information
Some vehicles provided by our company can only purchase third-party insurance and do not allow for full coverage. If the renter and driver experience any accidents or incidents during the rental period, they will be fully responsible. Repair costs will vary depending on the rarity of the vehicle parts.
- For example: The custom alloy wheels, rear wing, steering wheel, sunroof, shift knob, etc., of the Subaru Impreza STI S202 are considered rare parts. Therefore, any damage will require full compensation; for instance, a custom alloy wheel may require compensation of HKD $10,000.
- Vehicles must use premium gasoline. If the incorrect type of gasoline is used, an additional fine of ¥20,000 will be imposed.
- If the renter and driver have not applied for Track Purpose and this is discovered, a fine of five times the rental amount will be charged.
- Entering the rev limiter zone (commonly known as the red zone) is prohibited, and driving records will be maintained.
2) Information on Violations of Road Traffic Ordinances (Tickets)
- If the renter and driver do not address ticket-related matters promptly, our company can assist
with processing. A handling fee of ¥10,000 will be charged for each ticket.
- For fines incurred due to speeding, the handling fee will be equivalent to the amount of the fine, as our company will need to represent the renter at the police station.
3) Overview of Speeding Fines
1) 1-14 km over the limit: ¥9,000
2) 15-19 km over the limit: ¥12,000
3) 20-24 km over the limit: ¥15,000
4) 25-29 km over the limit: ¥18,000
5) 30-34 km over the limit: ¥25,000
6) 35-39 km over the limit: ¥35,000
7) 40-49 km over the limit: ¥100,000 + six months imprisonment
4) Vehicle Return and Deposit Refund Policy
Late Return Fees
- If the rental vehicle is not returned by the scheduled time, a fee of 10% of the rental amount will be charged for each hour within the first 4 hours of delay.
- If the vehicle is not returned after 4 hours of the scheduled time, a full day's rental fee will be charged. Fuel Policy Upon Vehicle Return
The renter and driver must refill the gas tank to full before returning the vehicle. Otherwise, our company will charge double the cost based on the day's fuel price for the remaining fuel needed.
Rental Vehicle Deposit information
Due to the notification period for traffic violation tickets in Japan, which takes approximately thirty days, our deposit refund to customers will take 30 to 45 days.
As our company is a Japanese company, the deposit is also collected using the payment system of the Japanese Square company. Therefore, the deposit will be charged in the form of a credit hold on the client's card to ensure the safety of both parties, and the deposit will be calculated in Japanese yen. When the deposit is refunded, it will also be refunded in Japanese yen.
*Please note that the deposit will be refunded based on the exchange rate on the day of refund. Therefore, the exchange rate may rise or fall, and we hope that our clients understand this.
Refund Policy
- If a customer cancels a reserved activity, vehicle, or other services, refunds will be processed as follows:
A) Cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled date will not be refunded.
B) Cancellations made between 14 and 30 days before the scheduled date will receive a 50% refund of the total price (excluding track day and third-party fees, such as track day entry fees, transportation costs, and accommodation expenses).
C) Cancellations made 30 days or more before the scheduled date will receive a 75% refund of the total price (excluding track day and third-party fees, such as track day entry fees, transportation costs, and accommodation expenses).
5 ) Dashcam Information
Our company has installed a dashcam in the vehicle, which records the driving behavior of the renter and driver (only video, no audio). This is used to confirm the circumstances during an accident and will not be used for any other purpose. The dashcam may also be used to check if the vehicle has exceeded high RPMs (commonly known as the red zone/ rev limiter). If this occurs more than five times, compensation will be required.
6) Information for Vehicle Rental Extraction
Customers must ensure that they can use the following communication apps while in Japan:

This is to ensure customer safety and to enable immediate contact with our company in case of any issues with the rented vehicle.
7) Improper Use or issues
A signed copy of these general terms and conditions must be submitted to zoom car life upon
registration for the event.
During the journey the renter must check the vehicle displays, in particular the engine, oil and water temperature(s). As soon as the renter notices any malfunction during the use of the vehicle, this must be reported immediately to Zoom car life. Any suspicion of a problem is also to be reported immediately to zoom car life, as continuation can significantly damage the vehicle, with the renter liable for any consequential damages. The renter undertakes to pay any resulting costs due to an over-rev of the motor, by improper gear changes (or similar) that requires the checking of the technical condition of the engine.
We offers a complete package that enables safe usage of wheels on the road. If you require wheels for track purposes, please make an early request to Zoom Car Life and be prepared to pay the corresponding fee.
Smoking is not allowed in any of our vehicles.
The vehicle is to be used appropriately. Zoom car life reserves the right to ban the renter or to prohibit the further use of the vehicle in cases of improper use (such as drifting, burn-outs, etc.) and in cases of repeated or grossly improper use. Reimbursement of costs for the use of the vehicle does not take place in such cases. The renter must pay any costs for damage and/or above-average wear and tear of the vehicle (especially the tires) resulting from improper use.
The renter is responsible to pay for any damages caused to the rented vehicle, to the road (e.g. guardrails/barriers), to other vehicles or persons affected and for eventual recovery costs
Zoom car life reserves the right to request a deposit and/or require instruction on any rental car at any time. The customer is liable for all costs associated. Cancellations of bookings due to inability to pay for these costs will not be refunded.
What should I do in case of an accident?
For some of the vehicles provided by our company, only third-party insurance is available, and full coverage insurance cannot be purchased. In the event of any accidents or incidents during the rental period, the renter and driver will be fully responsible. The cost of repairs may vary based on the rarity of the vehicle.
-If a customer unfortunately experiences a traffic accident for which they are responsible, our company’s maximum repair cost for the vehicle is 800,000 yen. If the repair costs exceed 800,000 yen, the customer will be required to purchase the vehicle to cover the compensation.
